Sir Alex Ferguson's outfit are also chasing a league double and a fifth consecutive victory over the West Midlands side having come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 last November at Villa Park.

20.55: The only comfort for Villa now is that with the game won, United may not be that hungry to fire home more goals in the second half.
The last thing Villa need confidence wise is another thrashing following the Chelsea hammering and I'm starting to wonder if Lambert will be regretting fielding such an attacking line-up.

20.50: So United are cruising to a 20th title, Villa are doing themselves no favours in the goal difference stakes and Van Persie now leads the Premier League goal scoring charts with 24 - one ahead of Luis Suarez.
