Labourer falls from products provider dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head accidents following he fell off a items provider at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.
According to Calangute police, the incident took put at all over 1.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a result of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. While the driver was negotiating a curve to go in direction of Nagoa, the provider section of the pick-up fell on the street and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting inside the carrier fell off, suffering severe head accidents.
Chawan, a native of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district clinic at Mapusa, but breathed his past on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested underneath Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and afterwards launched on bail.
