Labourer falls from items carrier dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head injuries after he fell off a items carrier at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the automobile has been arrested.
According to Calangute police, the incident took position at all around 1.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a consequence of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. When the driver was negotiating a curve to go in direction of Nagoa, the carrier segment of the pick-up fell on the street and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting down inside the provider fell off, suffering significant head injuries.
Chawan, a native of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district medical center at Mapusa, but breathed his very last on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested below Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and later on unveiled on bail.
