Labourer falls from goods carrier dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head accidents following he fell off a goods carrier at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the auto has been arrested.
According to Calangute law enforcement, the incident took location at around 1.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a result of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. When the driver was negotiating a curve to go toward Nagoa, the provider area of the choose-up fell on the road and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting down within the provider fell off, suffering serious head accidents.
Chawan, a indigenous of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district healthcare facility at Mapusa, but breathed his final on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested underneath Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and afterwards released on bail.
