Labourer falls from goods carrier dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head accidents right after he fell off a products carrier at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the car has been arrested.
According to Calangute law enforcement, the incident took position at around one.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a outcome of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. Though the driver was negotiating a curve to go toward Nagoa, the carrier part of the choose-up fell on the highway and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting down inside the carrier fell off, suffering severe head accidents.
Chawan, a native of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district healthcare facility at Mapusa, but breathed his last on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested less than Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and afterwards released on bail.
