CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head injuries soon after he fell off a goods provider at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.
According to Calangute law enforcement, the incident took location at about 1.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a final result of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. Whilst the driver was negotiating a curve to go to Nagoa, the carrier segment of the select-up fell on the road and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting within the carrier fell off, struggling serious head accidents.
Chawan, a native of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district clinic at Mapusa, but breathed his very last on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested below Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and later released on bail.
