Labourer falls from products carrier dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head injuries following he fell off a merchandise provider at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the motor vehicle has been arrested.
According to Calangute law enforcement, the incident took spot at close to 1.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a end result of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. When the driver was negotiating a curve to go toward Nagoa, the provider section of the select-up fell on the street and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting within the provider fell off, suffering major head accidents.
Chawan, a native of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district healthcare facility at Mapusa, but breathed his final on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested under Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and later unveiled on bail.
