Labourer falls from products carrier dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head injuries just after he fell off a goods carrier at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the auto has been arrested.
According to Calangute police, the incident took spot at about 1.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a end result of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. While the driver was negotiating a curve to go in direction of Nagoa, the provider portion of the decide-up fell on the highway and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting down inside the carrier fell off, suffering severe head accidents.
Chawan, a native of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district hospital at Mapusa, but breathed his last on the way.
