Labourer falls from merchandise provider dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head injuries just after he fell off a merchandise carrier at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.
According to Calangute police, the incident took location at about one.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a consequence of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. Though the driver was negotiating a curve to go towards Nagoa, the provider segment of the choose-up fell on the highway and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting down within the provider fell off, suffering critical head injuries.
Chawan, a native of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district hospital at Mapusa, but breathed his very last on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested less than Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and later introduced on bail.
