The highlight of the British sporting summer - The Championships at Wimbledon - continues into day two and you won't miss any of the SW19 action with Sportsmail's rolling live coverage.
The first round drama is still the main focus and after Serena Williams breezed through on Centre Court, attention shifts to Novak Djokovic.
After a disastrous opening day for the Brits in which only Andy Murray triumphed in singles action, Laura Robson will hope to cause a shock when she takes on tenth seed Maria Kirilenko in the second match on Court 1.

ALL THE LATEST FIRST ROUND SCORES AND RESULTS BELOWMEN'S SINGLES WOMEN'S SINGLES
9.05pm: That brings an end to all of the singles action on day two at Wimbledon, here is how the two main courts line up tomorrow, cheerio:
Centre Court:
Flavia Pennetta (Ita) v (2) Victoria Azarenka (Blr)
(6) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (Fra) v Ernests Gulbis (Lat)
Sergiy Stakhovsky (Ukr) v (3) Roger Federer (Sui)]
Court 1:
Fernando Verdasco (Spa) v (31) Julien Benneteau (Fra)
Yen-Hsun Lu (Tpe) v (2) Andy Murray (Gbr)
(8) Petra Kvitova (Cze) v Yaroslava Shvedova (Kaz)
9.02pm: Brutal from Reynolds who holds to love to defeat Johnson 1-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 6-7 (4-7) 6-4. Shows what I know about fading light. His prize? A second round clash against Novak Djokovic...at least it's a day out in front of the TV cameras.
8.59pm: Big developments in that clash though as Reynolds breaks and is now serving for the match against the player ranked just 29 places above him at 120.
8.56pm: And then there was one (well, one singles match left on day two.) We are still with serve on Court 4 as Ryenolds and Johnson battle at 4-4 in the all-American clash.
8.53pm: And Hantuchova fails to do so as Zakopalova breaks again to take the match 6-4, 6-3. She will now face Annika Beck in the next round.
Too strong: Klara Zakopalova (above) defeated veteran Daniela Hantuchova in straight sets
8.50pm: Hantuchova is now serving to stay in the match as Zakopalova holds at 5-3. There are still very few empty seats at Court 12 for this clash.
8.47pm: In the other match on Court 4, we are with serve as Johnson leads Reynolds 3-2 in the final set. I don't fancy they will get that done tonight - but we will see, the evening sun means we will have a few more minutes yet.
8.44pm: Just two single matches are going on but the light is really fading. The scoreboards are really illuminating now, with Hantuchova serving at 4-2 behind.
8.41pm: One result to bring you from Court 15 - and what a nightmare it's going to be trying to type it. Barbora Zahlavova Strycova defeats Magdalena Rybarikova 5-7, 6-0, 6-1. Now that's a comeback.
8.38pm: Hantuchova's joy doesn't last long though as Zakopalova breaks straight back to lead 3-2. There is another discussion about light between the officials but everyone looks happy to continue for now. A late evening appearance from the sun helping matters.
8.35pm: A break back from Hantuchova, who lets out a 'come on' scream after clawing her way back into this set.
Five-set thriller: Germany's Daniel Brands triumphed over Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver
8.32pm: Germany's Dan Brands is through to the second round after defeating Dan Gimeno-Traver of Spain (and the light) 7-6 (6-5) 6-7 (4-7) 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 6-4.
8.29pm: We are getting to that stage of the evening where light is starting to become a concern. I imagine Zakopalova, a break up, will be given the opportunity to finish the match against Hantuchova but the Slovakian is digging those heels in from those magnificent pins to make the 32nd seed work for this.
8.26pm: Speaking of five sets, that's what we are going to have on Court 4 after Steve Johnson takes the fourth set tie-break 7-4 in the all-American clash with Bobby Reynolds.
8.23pm: Remember the battle of the Dans on Court 7? What do you mean, no? In the deciding set, it's Germany's Brand who is looking to serve for the match at 5-4 against Gimeno-Traver.
8.20pm: Zakopalova took the first set against Hantuchova 6-4 and breaks at the start of the second against the Slovakian.
All smiles: Sabine Lisicki took just over an hour to defeat Francesca Schiavone
8.17pm: That took Lisicki just over an hour to triumph and she was keen to sign as many autographs and pose for as many photos as possible after the match.
8.14pm: Lisicki quickly gains three match points and despite double faulting the first and a lone voice in the crowd shouting 'Come On Tim!' manages to hit the second to claim a convincing 6-1 6-2 win. Brilliant play from the German who I maintain will be one to watch despite the low seeding. She will face Elina Vesnina in the next round.
8.11pm: Lisicki is closing in on victory. Schiavone is broken again and the German is serving for the match.
8.08pm: Impressive from Hantuchova who has broken back against Zakopalova. It's now 4-4 on Court 12.
8.05pm: Schiavone is now serving at 4-2 down, but despite her loud grunting on serve, Lisicki is not showing any wobbles.
8.02pm: We have a five-set match on Court 7 in the battle of the Dans - Germany's Brands and Spain's Gimeno-Traver are fighting for the right to face Berdych in the next round.
7.59pm: Lisicki is not quite racing through this set but she still has the break as she leads 3-1. Schiavone's experience is finally coming to the Italian's aid.
Dominant: Agnieszka Radwanska dropped just two games to defeat Yvonne Meusburger
7.56pm: We've certainly raced through the matches today but there is still plenty going on. On Court 12, 32nd seed Klara Zakopalova is a break up against 30-year-old veteran Daniela Hantuchova as she serves at 3-2 ahead.
7.53pm: Blink and you probably missed it. Agnieszka Radwanska has shown no mercy on Court 2 to dispatch Yvonne Meusburger 6-1, 6-1. Easy as you like for last year's finalist.
7.50pm: It's a masterclass from Lisicki who I am sure will prove more dangerous than her seeding rank of 23 as this tournament progresses (Yes, I'm assuming she will go through). The German took the first set 6-1 against Schiavone and has broken at the very start of the second.
Sailing through: Feliciano Lopez (top) knocked out 19th seed Gilles Simon
7.47pm: Game, set and match Lopez who triumphs in straight sets over Simon, winning 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 (13-11). The French seed fared well in the third set but those sluggish opening two ultimately cost him.
7.44pm: Still that tie-break goes on, with Lopez and Simon now locked at 10-10. The Spaniard has seen two match points go down the drain and the fans are willing the Frenchman on - only because they want to see more tennis though.
7.41pm: French 19th seed Simon struggled in the first two sets but it's more even in the third against Lopez. The two are locked in a tie-break in the third set where it stands at 7-7.
Coming up short: British debutant Tara Moore (left) lost in three sets to Kaia Kanepi
7.38pm: From Sportsmail's Mike Dickson:
'Brave effort from Tara Moore, goes down 7-5 in 3rd on SW19 debut. Hopefully this will show her what the fruits can be of hard work.'
I couldn't agree more with Mike. Moore had some cracking shots in her arsenal today - it wasn't a case of Kanepi playing poorly even though she was inconsistent.
7.35pm: No signs of some women seeds suffering first round nerves at this point. Radwanksa has taken the first set 6-1 against Meusburger, while Lisicki is 5-1 up on Schiavone on Court 1 - the Italian a former French Open winner.
7.32pm: That's a bit of a shame for Moore that. She would have faced an even tougher test in Kerber in the next round - but the experience would only have done her good.
7.29pm: Bad luck, Tara Moore. The 20-year-old survives two more match points but in deuce is eventually broken and with it loses the match 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 to Kaia Kanepi - a player ranked 148 places above her.
The Brit may have lost but it was a fantastic performance and I'm sure that's not the last we will see of her concerning future championships.
7.27pm: An update on results elsewhere from Sportsmail's Ivan Speck:
'Family honour was restored in the Pliskova household yesterday afternoon. Following Kristynas 6-4, 6-1 defeat to Jana Cepelova, twin sister Karolina made it through to the second round with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over 13th seed Nadia Petrova.'
7.24pm: A tight line call that initially goes against Kanepi looks to have seen Moore break the Estonian, but the umpire overrules in Kanepi's favour who goes on to hold. Moore again serves to stay in the match.
Safely through: France's Richard Gasquet was another male seed through to round two
7.21pm: Those of you wanting to get to the show courts tomorrow may want to check out this message from Sportsmail's Ivan Speck:
'The Wimbledon queues show no sign of abating. All tickets for tomorrows show courts sold out at 11.39 this morning.'
7.19pm: Kanepi is given a sniff of victory with match point but Moore, not for the first time, shows no nerves to fight back and hold serve. It's 5-5 in the final set.
7.17pm: From Sportsmail's Ivan Speck, who caught a word from the green-haired Bethanie Mattek-Sands:
Most conspicuous by her absence from the womens draw following her 6-3, 6-4 defeat to Angelique Kerber will be Bethanie Mattek-Sands, she of the neon green, glow-in-the-dark hair. The American said: 'I havent seen a lot of the players, but theyve all seen me.'
7.14pm: From Sportsmail's Mike Dickson
'Great fight being put up by Tara Moore who has come back from 1-4 in the decider to break back for 3-4. Those hands are seriously good.
But after Moore holds, so does Kanepi who despite throwing a 30-0 lead, rifles a superb serve before seeing out the game. Moore now serves to stay in the match at 5-4 behind
Gaining attention: Croatia's Petra Martic was in action against Georgia's Anna Tatishvil
7.11pm: From Sportsmail's Jon McEvoy
'Standing room only at Court 14. A girlfriend looks through the throng and tells her bloke: 'Ah, I see why there are so many men watching. Look at those legs.' They belong to Miss Petra Martic, 22, of Croatia. One set all, by the way.
7.08pm: Sensational stuff from Moore, she was on the cusp of being broken after receiving treatment but she has once again broken Kanepi to put this match back on serve at 4-3. It's not over yet
7.05pm: Our friends at IBM have been handing us some useful stats on Wimbledon, and as of now have revealed that Laura Robson has become the most tweeted player of the day - topping 19 million mentions
7.02pm: Couple of decent matches in the women's draw are getting underway now. Sabine Lisicki is up against Francesca Schiavone on Court 1
While on Court 2, last year's finalist Agnieszka Radwanska is serving up against Yvonne Meusburger
Waved through: Men seeds David Ferrer (above) and Tomas Berdych both reached round two comfortabl
6.59pm: Wins for a couple of seeds as Berdych sees off Klizan 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, while Gasquet triumphs in four sets over Granollers
6.56pm: From Sportsmail's Alex Kay on the ups and downs of Steve Darcis' last 24 hours
'Poor old Steve Darcis. He knocks out two-time champion Rafael Nadal and his reward? The third match on Court No 17 tomorrow
'He's playing Poland's Lukas Kubot and will fancy his chances of getting past round two for the first time ever. In better news for him, I saw John Inverdale give him a big hug today. You can't beat that.
6.53pm: That trainer was indeed for Moore who is about to serve again at 3-0 down in the final set - albeit now she has a heavily bandaged left knee. You would have to say if the odds were not already against her before this game, they certainly are now
6.50pm: Easy does it for Ferrer. Spain was reeling yesterday following Rafa Nadal's shock exit, but they have a potential new Wimbledon hero in David Ferrer as he survives a wobble to defeat Martin Alund 6-1 4-6 7-5 6-1 on Centre Court
6.47pm: A trainer has now been called on to Court 17, and judging by body language it appears to be for Moore, who slipped badly in the game she lost serve. On Court 3 Lopez is serving for the second set over French 19th seed Simon
6.44pm: The match is slipping away from Moore, but despite the 3-0 scoreline this final set has been really close. The Brit takes Kanepi to deuce again but the Estonian's powerful serve comes to her aid again
6.41pm: Ferrer is finishing how he started - in total control. The fourth seed has raced into a 4-1 lead on Centre Court against Alund and is now serving to move within a game of the second round
Fan flock: Spectators packed Henman Hill during day tw
6.38pm: Pivotal it was too. Kanepi gains three break points in Moore's service game and although the Brit survives two (including one great ace) the Estonian makes no mistake with the third
6.35pm: Moore is furious with the umpire, line judges and just about anyone else who has some sort of officiating role after a crucial moment in the match controversially goes against her
At break point, Kanepi fires way over the baseline but the ball is ruled to have bounced in, causing Moore to furiously dispute the call
There's no facility for a Hawkeye appeal on Court 17 though and the Estonian squeezes a hold through deuce to fortunately edge 1-0 ahead in the deciding set.
6.32pm: Tara is really putting us through it on Court 17! Surviving two break points, Moore manages to fight back to take the game to deuce before a powerful serve forces Kanepi to fire straight into the net and hand the Brit the set. What a morale boost for the wildcard
6.29pm: Meanwhile Ferrer looked like he was rocking on Centre Court but he has taken the third set 7-5 against Alund to lead 2-1 overall. Lopez has once again broken Simon in the second set on Court 3 and on serve leads 3-2
6.26pm: Superb from Moore as she breaks straight back on he third break point after Kanepi also fires wide. The 20-year-old will once again serve for the set
Fighting back: Britain's Tara Moore (above) took the game to Kaia Kanepi on Court 1
6.23pm: From Sportsmail's Mike Dickson on Moore's promising showing against Kanepi
'Got to be impressed by Tara Moore of Yorkshire and Hong Kong heritage, even though shes just missed five set points against ex quarter finalist Kaia Kanepi. Within the British game shes been acknowledged for a long while as having unusual natural talent.
6.20pm: Big blow for Moore. She sees five set points disappear when being taken to deuce on serve, but after some pulsating rallies she fires a forehand narrowly wide. It's 5-5 again and a big boost for Kanepi
6.17pm: From Sportsmail's Alex Kay on Twitter
'Murray on Court No 1 tomorrow against Lu. Always moved off Centre at some point during the fortnight.
6.14pm: I was certain I was going to be inserting a smiling face graphic after Moore raced into three set points, but the Brit lost her nerve slightly as Kanepi hit back and has taken the game to deuce
Hitting back: Martin Alund won the second set 6-4 against David Ferrer after losing the first 6-
Hitting back: Martin Alund won the second set 6-4 against David Ferrer after losing the first 6-
6.11pm: Gilles Simon started badly if you remember against Lopez and it didn't get much better as the French 19th seed crashed 6-2 against Lopez on Court Three. It's looking easier for another seed in Berdych on Court 1 as he takes the second set 6-4 against Klizan
6.08pm: Moore holds again and the 20-year-old looks really settled on Court 17 as Kanepi aims to serve to stay in the set
6.05pm: As Kanepi bounces back from that double fault to comfortably hold, Gasquet, on Court Two, takes the third set 7-5 against Granollers to lead on sets for the first time
6.03pm: Now Moore holds with relative ease to move 4-2 ahead. Kanepi even double faults at the start of her next service game as the sun makes its way back out. This time it does appear to be shining with the Brits
6pm: Screams of frustration from Moore as she wastes a great chance to break on Kanepi's second serve
The good news is she gets another opportunity at 30-40 and this time she succeeds to break the former quarter-finalist. Moore has been impressive this evening
5.57pm: Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria is through to the second round, with the 29th seed defeating Simone Bolelli of Italy 6-1 6-4 6-3
5.54pm: Berdych has broken again on Court 1 where the 2010 finalist moving 4-2 ahead against Klizan. It's 2-2 in the third set between Ferrer and Alund
Green day: German seventh seed Angelique Kerber celebrates her win over Bethanie Mattek-Sand
5.51pm: Break point to Moore and she has a great chance to...oh, Kanepi rifles an ace straight past the Brit to take the game to deuce, where she holds to lead 2-1
5.48pm: Frenchman Gilles Simon is in a touch of bother on Court Three as the 19th seed is already 2-0 down against ladies' favourite Feliciano Lopez
5.45pm: Big surprise on Centre Court as Ferrer loses the second set 6-4 to Alund - remember he strolled the first 6-1. A bit of trouble for the fourth seed
5.42pm: Last year's semi-finalist Angelique Kerber has eased to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Mattek-Sands and she will now play the winner of Moore and Kanepi
If the young Brit does produce a shock to win today, it sure isn't going to get easier
5.39pm: The sun has broken through the many clouds hanging around Wimbledon but it is not shining on the Brits as Moore is broken to lose the first set 7-5 against Kanepi. That's no disgrace to the Brit though who is performing well above her world ranking of 194
5.36pm: Back on to Date-Krumm's victory earlier, where the 42-year-old made it look so easy to win in 44 minutes against Witthoeft - so what's her secret to performing so well into her forties? Sportsmail's Neil Moxley got the answer in her post-match press conference
'I eat a lot. I eat more than my husband and my coach. And I like Chinese tea...sometimes Japanese tea. I drink it a lot. I have a tea pot that I always carry. I like the taste but it doesn't go on court with me because it's too hot...
Still going strong: Veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm defeated Carina Witthoeft in straight set
5.33pm: From Sportsmail's Jon McEvoy, who has been involved with a few fashion discussions today
'Returning to questions of fashion - or etiquette perhaps - after Serenas flash of orange: does anyone care for the all-white rule? It seems strange that a fortnight ago at Queens the players were wearing what they fancied whereas club rules for members state that your clothes must be predominantly (two thirds, in fact) white. Guess the debate divides between traditionalists and the rest.
5.30pm: No such problem for Berdych so far either as the Czech star takes the first set 6-3 against Klizan. After losing the first set, Gasquet has hit back to take the second against Granollers 6-4
Quick out the blocks: David Ferrer won the first set against Martin Alund on Centre Court 6-
5.27pm: No such resistance from Alund however who crumbled to a 6-1 loss in the first set against Ferrer on Centre. It's a more even 3-3 in the second
5.24pm: Important hold for Moore as after a game lasting over five minutes, she comes through in deuce to level up the scores at 4-4
From Sportsmail's Charlie Sale
An eclectic mix of football people at Wimbledon today including Manchester City's all-powerful director of communications Vicky Kloss and agent Charles Collymore who was cleared by an FA inquiry after being revealed as the middle man who said on the Panorama football bungs documentary : 'There are managers out there who take bungs all day long. I would say to you there are six to eight managers who we could definitely approach and they'd be up for this no problem.'
5.21pm: From Sportsmail's Charlie Sale
'Ironic with JK Rowling in the Royal Box at Wimbledon today that British heroine Laura Robson once said in an interview that she did not like Harry Potter books.
Up against it: Britain's Tara Moore took on Estonian Kaia Kanepi on Court 1
5.18pm: The set looked like it was starting to drift away from Moore but she breaks back Kanepi out of no where to force her way back into it. It's now 4-3 on Court 17 with the Brit looking to level up on serve
5.15pm: From Sportsmail's Laurie Whitwell
'Bernard Tomic has just given a pretty frank press conference after his five-set victory, questioning why Wimbledon have banned his father and coach John from even attending the Championships as a spectator
'His main ire is directed at the ATP, who suspended Tomic Sr's tour credentials after he was charged with assaulting his son's former training partner, Frenchman Thomas Drouet, during the Madrid Open. He denies the charge
'Queen's allowed John to view from the stands as a fan but the All England Club have denied him even this. 'Strict,' is how Tomic called it.
5.12pm: Richard Gasquet is in a bit of trouble on Court 2 as he takes on Marcel Granollers. The ninth seed lost the first set on a tie-break but is a break up in the second
5.09pm: To cheer you up a bit, why not relive Robson's win through Mike Dickson's match report
Good start: Last year's semi-finalist Angelique Kerber won her first set against Bethanie Mattek-Sand
5.06pm: The feel good factor for the Brits hasn't made its way to Court 17 where Moore has been broken by Kanepi
In fairness to the 20-year-old, she is playing against an Estonian ranked around 148 places higher than her in the world at 46
5.03pm: Centre Court has been a day of quick finishes and David Ferrer looked set on continuing that trend when he raced into a 4-0 lead against Martin Alund
The Argentine has managed to break the fourth seed though as he attempts to claw his way back into the set.
5pm: On Court 3, Kerber did indeed take that first set against Matek-Sands and that match is locked at 3-3 n the second
4.57pm: A look around the courts and we have an epic on No 4. Andreas Seppi raced into a 2-0 lead against Denis Istomin, but the 23rd seed lost the next two sets as we head into a decider
4.54pm: On Court 1 now is men's seventh seed Tomas Berdych up against Martin Klizan, but there is another Brit in action now as Tara Moore takes on Kaia Kanepi on Court 17
4.51pm: From 1987 Wimbledon winner, Pat Cash
'Just watched a future top 5 and i think a slam winner Laura Robson crush 10th seed Kirilenko.
4.48pm: Robson will now face Mariana Duque in the next round, as the 19-year-old goes up against the Colombian qualifier who defeated Julia Gorges in three sets earlier
4.45pm: From Sportsmail's Neil Moxley
'Juan Martin del Potro was just on the end of a bit of gentle leg-pulling as Tommy Haas waited to follow him into an interview room
'The Argentine had just finished but was wanted for another chat. 'Star TV are waiting for you,' said one of the press officers.Star TV, eh?' said Haas, raising his eyebrows and smiling. Del Potro got the inference, smiling at the harmless teasing.
Home success: Laura Robson stunned Maria Kirilenko to defeat the 10th seed 6-3, 6-
4.42pm: Laura Robson, looking visibly stunned herself, spoke to BBC after the game following the 6-3, 6-4 win over Kirilenko
'I was so, so nervous! It was a big one for me because of all the nerves and playing in front of your own crowd. I could have gone 5-1 up in the second and I lost my focus as I started thinking about winning
'It was nerve wracking serving out but I said focus take deep breaths and it worked. I'm going to go into the next match with a big focus.
4.39pm: YES! Court 1 erupts as Laura Robson finishes with a cross court winner to hold serve, defeat Kirilenko and pull off a big shock to move into round two. Well done Laura
4.36pm: From InfostradaSports
Djokovic wins in 3 sets. It's 11 straight set wins in a row for him in the last 11 Grand Slam FIRST ROUND matches (incl 1 opponent Retiring
4.33pm: The Russian isn't going to make it easy though, she holds comfortably as Robson fires over the baseline. The Brit is now serving for the match - hold your nerve Laura
4.30pm: First sign of emotion from Robson as she wobbles slightly on serve before managing to see the game out. Kirilenko is now serving to stay in the match and also to avoid a huge upset on Court 1
4.27pm: Updates from elsewhere, out on Court Three the women's seventh seed Angelique Kerber is off to a good start as she is a break up on Bethanie Mattek-Sands. The American is serving to stay in the set
Easy does it: Novak Djokovic strolled to a straight sets victory over Florian Maye
4.24pm: First Williams, now Djokovic. The Serb has stormed through with a 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 win over Mayer on Centre Court
Fourth seed David Ferrer and Martin Alund are up next
4.21pm: And how pivotal will that be? Robson fires wide down the line and that sees Kirilenko break straight back
From Sportsmail's Mike Dickson
'For the first time in match Robson's ball toss starts to go astray = worrying sign. Gets broken but still 4-2 up.
4.18pm: Djokovic is edging closer to the second round with Mayer now serving to stay in the match. Robson meanwhile has gone from a commanding 40-15 lead to facing a break point in deuce - nervous times. There were a few unforced errors from the Brit there
4.15pm: Scrap that - Robson is flying! In deuce the Brit takes advantage before firing a superb return down the line to break the tenth seed again. Court 1 is lapping this up and I don't blame them. Sportsmail's Alex Kay simply says: 'British tennis is thriving. It was never in doubt.
Plenty to go round: A lady holds trays of strawberries inside Wimbledo
4.12pm: From Sportsmail's Mike Dickson
'Robsons coach Miles Maclagan sitting impassive in his old white cricket hat, must be pleased with what hes seeing, looks like the work on the serve paying off so far.
Indeed he must, but Robson blows an excellent chance by wasting two break points. The first was the best opportunity as Kirilenko fired a series of let serves as well as one fault to heap pressure on the Russian - into deuce we go
4.09pm: From Sportsmail's Alan Fraser on Centre Court
'If anything, Novak Djokovic has been even more impressive today than Roger Federer and Andy Murray were yesterday. But to win Wimbledon you have to peak on the final Sunday and not on the first Tuesday.
Good point Alan, but you don't want to drop below your best form that much, just ask Rafa
Veteran: The 35-year-old Tommy Haas powered through with a straight sets victor
4.06pm: This is quite brilliant from Robson. Aside from one poor shot at the net she has Kirilenko on the back foot and has just broken in the second set. What a chance for our Laura to reach the second round now
4.03pm: Good to see Tommy Haas is through after a straight sets win against Dmitry Tursanov. The German who has been plagued with injury in recent times is still going strong at 35
4.00pm: That's all from Adam Shergold - he left it late but he signs off on a good note with that set win for Laura Robson, let's hope the Brit can kick-on in the second. Dan Ripley here to take you through to the close of play
3.50pm SET TO LAURA ROBSON! How impressive was that? Wonderful set by the British number one to take the first set 6-3 in 32 minutes. Four aces in there as well and a 93 per cent first serve points won record.
3.48pm GAME, SET AND MATCH He had a bit of a scare, but Bernard Tomic has got through against Sam Querrey 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 2-6, 6-3
On Centre, Djokovic has come through the second set 7-5.
3.44pm Robson in complete control on her serve as she wins another game to love to lead 4-3. Looking very calm and collected
Bright start: Britain's Laura Robson had a strong start to her match with Maria Kirilenko (below)
3.39pm A few more alarm calls for Novak Djokovic in the second set, as Mayer keeps pace with him. They're currently locked together at 5-5, with the German on serve. Djokovic won the first set 6-3.
3.32pm BRIT WATCH Laura Robson has made a battling start to her match on Court One with Maria Kirilenko, holding her serve and pushing the Russian 10th seed very close on her games. It's 2-2 in the first set.
Mike Dickson reports: 'Out on Court One and it's again interesting to note the strong level of support Laura Robson gets, as if they realise she needs it. 2-2 v world no. 10 Kirilenko.
3.29pm BIZARRE... Philipp Kohlschreiber, who was about to enter a fifth set against Ivan Dodig on Court 18, has decided he's too tried to continue and has retired from the match. Extraordinary.
3.26pm FASHION WATCH Courtesy of Laura Williamson: 'For those of you watching on TV at home I can exclusively reveal... Sue Barker is wearing leopard-print shoes today. And very nice they are too.' Pictures please!
3.23pm GAME, SET AND MATCH Straight sets success for Tommy Haas against Dmitry Tursunov, 6-3, 7-5, 7-5. Neil Moxley writes: 'Tommy Haas, he of the back-to-front baseball cap, has made it through to Round Two. He cuts a strange figure now, with that style in his 30s, but had a little too much know-how for Tursunov.
Winner: Tommy Haas progressed in straight sets against Dmitry Tursuno
3.15pm Epic comeback from Sam Querry on Court Three - he did trail Bernard Tomic by two sets, now it's all square again. Into the decider.
3.10pm BRIT WATCH Laura Robson has just walked on to Court One for her match with 10th seed Maria Kirilenko. The 19-year-old is currently the British number one and will be hoping to reach the second round of Wimbledon for the second time.
The Russian Kirilenko's best here was last year, when she lost in the quarter-finals to Agnieszka Radwanska. It's the first meeting between these two.
3.05pm More information on that agonising Pella injury from Alex Kay: 'Hearing absolute heartbreak for Argentina's Guido Pella, who was stretchered off the court with an adductor injury. Worse than that, he had fought back from two sets down against Jesse Levine and was level in the fifth set when he suffered the injury. Apparently Pella was in tears on the court.
And Neil Moxley has details of a very gentlemanly act from Dmitry Tursunov: 'I'm out on Court No. 2 and Dimitry Tursunov, who is two sets down against Tommy Haas, just showed a nice touch. Haas was preparing to serve when his opponent called a halt. Tursunov turned around and propped up a ball girl who was clearly wilting in the heat. He led her by the arm to a chair in the corner in the court and gave her a drink before court officials rushed over. She was able to walk off court with Tursunov receiving a round of applause for his action.
Act of kindness: Dmitry Tursunov ran to the aid of a ball girl during his match with Tommy Haa
3.03pm GAME, SET AND MATCH Victory in three sets for Juan Martin del Potro over Spain's Albert Ramos. The scoreline was 6-2, 7-5, 6-1. An impressive start by the Argentine. Next up on Court One is Britain's own Laura Robson, so stay tuned.
3pm Novak Djokovic has taken the first set against Florian Mayer 6-3 in just over half an hour. There were some moments of outstanding tennis from both players during that first set, including a rally that sent the German sprawling full length to stay in contention.
Keeping my eye on you: Djokovic serves during the first set of his match against Florian Mayer, as his girlfriend Jelena Ristic watches on (below
2.58pm As promised. here's Jonathan McEvoy's take on Serena Williams' easy win this afternoon
2.51pm A painful end for Guido Pella, the Argentinean player, who fought back from two sets down in his match with Jesse Levine only to then suffer an injury and be stretchered off.
2.47pm A quick round-up from across the courts. On Centre, Novak Djokovic finds himself 5-2 up against Florian Mayer in the first set. On Court One, Del Potro is in firm control against Albert Ramos, leading by two sets and 3-0 in the third. On Court Two, Tommy Haas leads Dmitry Tursunov by two sets and, on three, Bernard Tomic enjoys a similar advantage against Sam Querry
Ouch! An early conclusion to this match as Guido Pella is stretchered off in his game with Jesse Levin
2.43pm Laura Williamson caught up with the conqueror of Heather Watson: 'Madison Keys was just asked to describe herself in one word: 'Sarcastic,' she said. Also revealed her friend has taken a liking to Nando's and she has a 'sarcastic voice' in her head when she's playing.
2.40pm FASHION WATCH Serena Williams was very colour co-ordinated today, with orange and white the chosen palette. Her Nike trainers were custom-made as they featured a little motif celebrating her five Wimbledon wins. Oh, and the colour matches her nails... and kit bag
Custom made: The Nike trainers worn by Serena Williams in her match, with a motif to mark her five Wimbledon triumph

2.39pm Del Potro did prevail in that second set in the end, winning 7-5, and he now has one foot in the second round you would think.
2.35pm CELEB SPOT! Points apiece for Alex Kay and Laurie Whitwell. Kay writes: 'How does a Red Devil spend his day? At Wimbledon! Patrice Evra is here today with Roberto Di Matteo. How did they become friends? And we just bumped into Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy as we were filming tomorrow's video with Ross Hutchins. Still can't believe Rory's hair is that dark naturally.
And Whitwell adds: 'Just witnessed a rather bemused Rory McIlroy wait for what seemed like an eternity at the players' entrance as an apologetic G4S security staff member tried and failed to get the scanner to work on his name badge. Not a blunder to rank alongside the Olympics mess up but an embarrassing episode nonetheless. He said it was 'no problem' but girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki had already made it through successfully and was chatting away to Ross Hutchins.
2.28pm Juan Martin Del Potro looked certain to wrap up the second set against Albert Ramos when he led 5-3 a few moments ago but he's been pegged back to 5-5.
Meanwhile, the men's number one Novak Djokovic is just getting started against Florian Mayer on Centre Court.
Driving seat: Juan Martin del Potro struck the first blow in his match with Albert Ramos by winning the opening se
2.17pm Next up on Centre is the men's number one, Novak Djokovic, and Alex Kay has spotted someone close to him: 'Just seen the lovely Jelena Ristic, Novak Djokovic's girlfriend, wandering out of the players' entrance. She is tiny.

Serena Williams, the defending champion, gave us a flavour of the power and precision that makes her an enduring phenomenon by pulverising Mandy Minella of Luxemburg 6-1, 6-3. This demolition lasted just 57 minutes
It was sometimes so one-sided that even the most flinty of hearts must have gone out to the blonde ranked 92nd in the world.
I'll post the link to the full report when it's up.
Easy: Serena Williams celebrates with a clenched fist after winning a point during her straight sets demolition of Luxembourg's Mandy Minella in the first roun
2.08pm GAME , SET AND MATCH And the world No 1 and defending champion makes no mistake as she ends what little resistance came from the Luxembourgan (is that even right? Sounds like it) and advances into the second round with little fuss, 6-1 6-3.
2.05pm: Serena is on the verge of victory, break point on Minella's serve to take the second set 6-3...
2.00pm: A warning from Wimbledon's official twitter feed to those intending to head down to SW19 tomorrow WITHOUT tickets: 'There are currently more people in #TheQueue than the allocation of Centre & No 1 Court tickets for Wimbledon on Wednesday..
'You are strongly advised to wait until the early morning before queuing for ground admission on Wednesday at Wimbledon. #TheQueue
You have been warned..
1.50pm News from Court Two, where No 13 seed Tommy Haas has grabbed the first set against Dmitry Tursunov of Russia 6-3. Meanwhile on Court 3, Bernard Tomic has edged Sam Querry 8-6 in a tie-break to win the opening set
Wizard: J.K. Rowling in the Royal Box today alongside Chairman of the All-England Club, Philip Brook
1.45pm Fine work from Del Potro to take the first set 6-2 against Albert Ramos on Court One, thanks to a double break of serve. Del Potro is still a little bit of an unknown quantity on grass - he won bronze, of course, in the Olympics here last year, but he couldn't beat Lleyton Hewitt at Queen's earlier this month
1.38pm A broad grin on the face of Mandy Minella as she takes the first game of the second set on Centre Court against Serena. It included an ace too. Comeback? Not likely.
Serene Serena: Williams won the first set 6-1 in just 19 minutes against Mandy Minell
1.31pm Commanding start by the eighth seed Juan Martin del Potro on Court One, he leads Spaniard Albert Ramos 3-1
Meanwhile, no worries for Serena Williams, who has won the first set against Mandy Minella 6-1 in 19 minutes. Rapid. Great stats, too: 100 per cent win record on her serve so far.
1.29pm Oh dear, Alan Fraser... 'A senior moment. Went to Court No 2 to see if Heather Watson could mount a comeback. Took my seat, wondered why it was quiet and looked down on........ Sam Stosur and Anna Schmiedlova. Court No 2 has, of course, moved, leaving Court No 3 where the old 'graveyard of champions' used to be.
1.25pm We've already seen Andy Murray on the practice courts, and here's Maria Sharapova in action too. And after the hard work was done, the Russian unwound by showing some silky football skills by the looks of it.
Meanwhile, her rival for the women's title, Serena Williams leads 4-1 in the first set on Centre Court.

1.20pm GAME, SET AND MATCH As we mentioned earlier, James Blake had few troubles in seeing off Dutchman Thiemo de Bakker in his match, winning 6-1, 6-3, 6-2. But as these pictures show, de Bakker wasn't helped by a broken racket
This symbol is usually reserved for tantrums, but it's also relevant for this one.
Smashed! Thiemo de Bakker wasn't helped by a broken racket during his straight sets defeat to James Blak
Back in the game: De Bakker with a replacement racke
1.17pm UPDATE From Court 18, where Philipp Kohlschreiber has taken the second set in his match with Ivan Dodig in a tie-break and has a firm grasp on the game. He leads by two sets and is 2-1 up in the third
In control: Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber returns to his Croatian opponent, Ivan Dodi
1.12pm SHARK WATCH Laurie Whitwell has managed to track down yesterday's hero: 'Steve Darcis still beaming with all the pride of a Jane Austen novel after his defeat of Rafa Nadal yesterday. The Belgian gave an interview in French to a group of European journalists before offering a quick few words in English to this lingual Luddite. Results should be on this website soon.
So where does that nickname come from? Simple. Darcis has a tattoo of a shark on his shoulder. Oh, and he likes fishing apparently.
1.10pm BRIT WATCH Following Heather Watson's exit, Alex Kay laments: 'So, are we heading towards oblivion? The only other occasion in recent times that we had only one player through to the second round was in 2010. And at least the losing players won three sets between them that year. Laura Robson and Tara Moore: our hopes lie with you.
1.07pm The Centre Court action about to get started, with Serena Williams warming up for her match against Mandy Minella. Jon McEvoy has identified a sartorial talking point: 'What do the fashion police make of Serena's orange undergarments? One for the fashion police. Personally, I favour traditional white for the tennis court'
Whatever she's wearing, Williams is odds-on favourite to win against the 27-year-old from Luxembourg who is currently ranked 65th in the world. Her third round run at Wimbledon last year was her personal best. This is the first meeting between these two.
1.04pm Andy Murray has been out and about in the SW19 sunshine a few minutes ago. The British number one looked very relaxed as he knocked about with coach Ivan Lendl on one of the practice courts ahead of his match with Taiwan's Yen-Hsun Lu tomorrow.
Relaxed: Andy Murray trains at Wimbledon today ahead of his second round game with Yen-Hsun L
1.02pm Charlie Sale has also been in touch with some news: 'Rupert Bell, well known TalkSport commentator who is also on the Wimbledon Live radio team for the championships, is lucky to be at work today
The shower cubicle door in his budget accommodation at the Putney Bridge Travel Lodge, part of the Premier Inn chain, shattered into fragments as he closed it this morning covering him in cuts that could have been a lot worse
The hotel entered Wimbledon folklore in 1999 following BBC's former tennis commentator Julian Tutt describing it on air as "some kind of bordello" when Jelana Dokic was staying there. Tutt Tutt as he was subsequently nicknamed was never part of the Beeb commentary team at Wimbledon again.
1.01pm Jonathan McEvoy, wearing what he calls a smart seersucker jacket in response to Alex Kay's critical comments about his attire, is in the Centre Court press seats. He says: 'The place is filling up. The sun pops in and out from behind a cloud - or is it a roof structure? - ready for Serena Williams v Mandy Minella, ranked 92nd in the world. Hurry up crowd or you might miss it. Prediction: a drubbing.'
12.55pm GAME, SET AND MATCH Yet more British disappointment as Heather Watson crashes out to Madison Keys 6-3, 7-5 on Court Two.
There was no shame in losing to the very talented American, particularly given Heather's health problems in the last few months, but she would certainly have been hoping to over the first hurdle.
It leaves just Laura Robson, Andy Murray and Tara Moore flying the flag for Britain
Out: Heather Watson was beaten by Madison Keys and crashes out of Wimbledon at the first round stag
12.53pm Our own Alex Kay on the trial and tribulations of gambling: 'Today is a big day for me. I have been asked to take part in a charity betting challenge, predicting the outcomes of some of the big sporting events of the summer.
'The first Lions Test went well and now Im relying on Tomas Berdych to win his quarter of the Wimbledon draw. One small problem Novak Djokovic is in it. Berdych better not blow it against Martin Klizan today. Alternatively, I'll be cheering on Djokovic's opponent Florian Mayer like there's no tomorrow
12.51pm GAME, SET AND MATCH And moments later, Sam Stosur books her place in the second round, with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Anna Schmiedlova on Court Three. Easy morning's work for the Australian
12.46pm GAME, SET AND MATCH Li Na is safely through to the second round, she's easily negotiated a way past Michaella Krajicek 6-1, 6-1. She will play Halep or Govortsova next
Focus: Li Na keeps her eyes fixed on the ball during her comfortable win over Michaella Krajic
12.44pm Bad news for the British fans as Madison Keys breaks back against Heather Watson on Court Two. They're now tied at 4-4 with Keys on serve. Especially disappointing as Heather was serving for a 5-3 lead during that game
12.41pm A breeze for the American James Blake so far against Thiemo de Bakker of the Netherlands. He's won the first two sets 6-1 and 6-3 and has an early break in the third
12.29pm Happiness all round inside Court Two, where Heather Watson is up a break against Madison Keys, currently leading 3-2. Plus, Laura Williamson writes: 'This could only happen at Wimbledon: a father just asked a steward to give a pizza to his boys sitting in the stands on Court 2. His wish was granted - complete with a bundle of napkins to mop up any mess
Meanwhile, Li Na continues to rule in her match with Krajicek as she surges into a 4-0 second set lead. I suspect that one could be concluded quite soon... Likewise on Court Three, where Sam Stosur leads Anna Schmiedlova 6-1, 4-1
Hitting form: Heather Watson was much improved in her second set with Madison Ke
12.26pm A note on the men's draw, where the 16th seed Philipp Kohlschreiber took the first set against Croatia's Ivan Dodig 6-4
12.24pm GAME, SET AND MATCH Date-Krumm, 42, wraps up her win over Witthoeft 6-0, 6-2. I think experience told there
12.21pm Judy Murray in the crowd on Court Two watching Watson break back at the very start of the second set. That's more like it... However, it didn't last long as Keys hits back straight away with a break of her own
12.15pm Vast gulf in experience out on Court 14, where Kimiko Date-Krumm, playing in her 26th Wimbledon and 103rd Grand Slam match, is lording it over debutant Carina Witthoeft of Germany. She took the first set to love and leads 4-2 in the secon
12.13pm And Keys has broken Watson for a second time to take the first set 6-3 so disappointment for the British supporters on Court Two. Keys, who is the second youngest player currently in the top 100 ranking, has by common consensus one of the best serves of any player in the women's game and it's proving the difference so far here
And there's drama on and off the court, writes Laura Williamson: 'Watson a set down after failing to hold serve to stay at 5-3 down. Obvious frustration as a double fault gifted Keys two set points. At the same time, a lady in the crowd fainted in the heat and has had to be taken out past the LTA blazers to cool down. It's all go
Power: Madison Keys hits a return on her way to taking the first set against Heather Wats
Sam Stosur has made light work of her first set on Court Three against Anna Schmiedlova, winning 6-1, while Li Na has cruised hers 6-1 against Holland's Michaella Krajicek
12.05pm Heather Watson is just about clinging on in her match. Although only 18 years of age, Madison Keys has an incredibly refined serve that thuds up off the turf every time and the Brit hasn't been able to answer it so far. Currently 4-3 to Keys, who is on serve
Laura Williamson is there for us: 'Watching Heather Watson against Madison Keys on Court 2. Number of empty green seats for this 11.30am start is appalling, especially given there's a British girl in action, but the shouts of "Come on Heather" are gradually getting louder
Very true about the empty seats, such a shame given how many would like to be there
Early struggles: Heather Watson in action during the first set against Madison Keys, who won an early bre
12.03pm Neil Moxley might be heading to another game quite soon by the sounds of it: 'Carina Witthoeft is losing the plot here on Court No 14. She lost the first set to Kimiko Date-Krumm without winning a game in just 16 minutes. She's been broken in the first game of the second and her body language isn't great. Actually, make that two down in the second set. This could be all over very quickly...
11.58am Serena Williams, the five-time champion and number one seed in the women's draw, has been warming up out on the practice court this morning ahead of her match with Mandy Minella on Centre Court at 1pm

11.56am A strong start from Li Na against Michaella Krajicek - the Chinese player has a break and leads 3-1
11.51am Not such good news from Court Two, where Heather Watson has been broken early in the first set against Madison Keys. I'm not going to use the British disappointment icon yet, however.
Flying the flag: These British fans were some of the first on court for Heather Watson's mat
11.48am Ivan Speck has picked out a bit of a size difference in the men's draw: 'The tall and short of it. At 6ft 8in, South Africas Kevin Anderson towers over most players in the mens draw. He certainly did so against Olivier Rochus, the 5ft 6in Belgian, on Court 10
11.46am Other seeded players in action early on this morning include the women's 14th seed Sam Stosur of Australia, who plays Slovakia's Anna Schmiedlova on Court Three, and number 30 seed Mona Barthel of Germany, who is up against Monica Niculescu on Court Four
Li Na, the 2011 French Open winner and sixth seed, is on Court 12 too, against Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands

11.35am Heather Watson is on Court Two, knocking up against her 18-year-old opponent from America Madison Keys. She's ranked no 52 in the world and is making an appearance in the first round of Wimbledon for the first time today
Watson, who has fought back from glandular fever this year, is ranked five places below Keys and so will hope to progress to the second round for a second successive year. She was the first British woman to make the third round for a decade in 2012
First up: Britain's Heather Watson starts early against US teenager Madison Keys on Court T
11.33am Ivan Speck writes to say Harry Potter author JK Rowling will be making her annual visit to Wimbledon today, taking a seat in the Royal Box. Rowling will be 'expecting some wizardry no doubt from the racket of Djokovic,' he writes
Charlie Sale adds on the same subject: 'Royal Box guests today include Harry Potter author JK Rowling , Esther Rantzen and England Cricket Board chairman Giles Clarke,. No doubt All England Club top brass will be getting reciprocal invites to Ashes Tests
11.28am Coming up shortly... Updates on Heather Watson's match with Madison Keys, plus all the latest from the pick of the other 11.30am starts
11.19am Ouch! Sportsmail's Alex Kay raises the fashion stakes: 'Very jealous of the line judges this year. Their navy blue jackets are very smart. Would quite like one for my Saturday nights out at the local discotheque. Much nicer than the stripy number my colleague Jonathan McEvoy is wearing today
Smart: A line judge sports a very nice navy blaz

11.01am Good news, ladies, brought to you by Neil Moxley: 'Just a leftover observation from last night. It's good to see that the age of chivalry is not dead. Rory McIlroy carried his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki's tennis bag away from the All-England club last night. Bless him
'Oh, and I think I saw Grace Jones, yes the Grace Jones, wandering around the place late on, too..
The first action is a little under half an hour away and the spectators are already taking their seats. Moxley adds: 'The gates open at 10.30am promptly. And it took the supporters of veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm a mere few minutes both to gain entrance and find Court No 14 where they hoped the Japanese star would be practising
'A great stampede took place but I think the object of their fascination is not due on court for another half-hour before her match with Germany's Carina Witthoeft

10.46am FED EXPRESS It was oh so easy for Roger Federer on Centre yesterday as he cruised past Victor Hanescu in just an hour and eight minutes. The defending champion was nowhere near his purring best, either, which is very bad news for the rest of the draw.

10.34am MURRAY MANIA In case you missed it yesterday, here's Jonathan McEvoy's report on a straightforward afternoon's work for Andy Murray as he beat Benjamin Becker in straight sets. The win was his 107th in Slams, meaning he overtook Fred Perry as the most successful British Grand Slam player of all time
No worries: Andy Murray roared through to the second round with a simple win over Benjamin Beck
10.31am The all important WEATHER REPORT now and, once again, rain shouldn't be a problem today. The Met Office forecast says bright and sunny spells all day with light winds and temperatures of about 18 or 19C
10.25am Sportsmail's Charlie Sale writes on a small decrease in Wimbledon attendance yesterday: 'The attendance on the first day of Wimbledon was 41,715 which is a decrease of 106 on the opening day last year
He adds, on another theme: 'The honorary stewards daily house bulletin encourages their members to remember to always make sure their cloakroom door is locked when not in use. Famously these premises next to the Centre Court have been used in the past by tennis fans for "inappropriate activities" as they were described at the time
Preparations: Ground staff mark out the lines on one of the outside courts in readiness for day two of Wimbled

10.15am BRIT WATCH So, Andy Murray aside, it was a total wipeout for the home hopes yesterday at Wimbledon, with James Ward, Kyle Edmund, Elena Baltacha, Anne Keothavong, Johanna Konta and Samantha Murray all knocked out
But optimism remains strong and we've got three Brits flying the flag today. As already mentioned, Heather Watson is among the 11.30am starters when she plays American Madison Keys on Court Two, while we have a glamour tie on Court One later when Laura Robson takes on the number 10 seed Maria Kirilenko
Also in action is Tara Moore, the British number five, who faces the experienced Estonian Kaia Kanepi later on Court 17
Let's hope we'll be seeing more of the smiley British flag symbol through the da

10.08am As always, our busy team of Sportsmail writers at Wimbledon will be keeping us updated with colourful tit-bits from in and around the All England Club. Laurie Whitwell has the honour of getting us started today
'A trio of ball girls were discussing the stories from Day One - swapping techniques and tips - en route from Southfields Tube to the All England Club when a couple of promoters appeared in the distance offering free cans of Red Bull. No performance-enhancing drinks required they told each other, energy pills had already been popped. Who needs wings
10.05am I think Wimbledon may well be still absorbing those momentous events of last night, when the 100-1 shot Darcis knocked the mighty Rafa Nadal out of a Grand Slam in the first round for the first time. In doing so, the world number 135 joined the list of famous Belgians, writes Alan Fraser

10am Good morning and welcome along to the second day of Wimbledon! We always expect fireworks here, but yesterday's opening day went off with a bigger bang than anyone could have imagine
There was the savaging of Rafa Nadal by the man known as 'The Shark' - Steve Darcis of Belgium - one of the greatest shocks SW19 has ever seen
There was a sumptuous exhibition of tennis by Roger Federer as he demolished Victor Hanescu in little over an hour and there was tremendous fighting spirit by Victoria Azarenka, who won despite being reduced to piercing wails of agony after injuring her leg
And there was Andy Murray keeping the British end up after all other hopes had been dashed with a clinical straight sets win over Benjamin Becker
So, what's is store for us today? More British hopes first up, with Heather Watson on court early doors against the American teenager Madison Keys and, later on Court One, Laura Robson against the Russian 10th seed Maria Kirilenko
We'll also be treated to the men's and women's number one seeds on Centre Court, with strong favourite Serena Williams up first against Luxembourg's Mandy Minella, followed by Novak Djokovic against Germany's Florian Mayer
