Labourer falls from goods provider dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head injuries just after he fell off a merchandise provider at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.
According to Calangute police, the incident took place at about one.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a outcome of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. When the driver was negotiating a curve to go toward Nagoa, the provider part of the decide on-up fell on the highway and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting inside the carrier fell off, suffering major head injuries.
Chawan, a native of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district hospital at Mapusa, but breathed his previous on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested less than Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and later on launched on bail.
