Ranbir Kapoor goes inexpensive for authenticity
Ranbir Kapoor ditched designer dress in for a significantly more cost-effective outfit for a poster image of 'Besharam'.
The motive: He needed to remain genuine to his character, which is that of a tapori. In the poster, Ranbir is found sporting a yellow T-shirt and a multi-colored jacket, which apparently charge only `1,000. Says director Abhinav Kashyap, "Ranbir's austerity and perseverance moved me, since it is so unlike a star to do that. Every time I tease him about this, he suggests that he is an actor and not a star."
The director provides, "Ranbir is a delight to operate with. He has given his all to the role - be it increasing hair on his upper body or shifting the way he walks. He carefully noticed the seem that Amitabh Bachchan sported in the 70s and has attempted to duplicate it."
