Labourer falls from goods provider dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head accidents right after he fell off a products carrier at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the car has been arrested.
According to Calangute police, the incident took place at all around 1.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a consequence of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. Though the driver was negotiating a curve to go in the direction of Nagoa, the provider part of the select-up fell on the highway and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting inside of the provider fell off, suffering major head injuries.
Chawan, a indigenous of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district clinic at Mapusa, but breathed his very last on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested underneath Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and later launched on bail.
