Labourer falls from merchandise carrier dies
CALANGUTE: A labourer died of head accidents following he fell off a goods provider at Saligao on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.
According to Calangute law enforcement, the incident took location at about 1.40pm at Grand Morod in Saligao, as a final result of rash driving by Vinay Baburao Mandrekar. Though the driver was negotiating a curve to go in direction of Nagoa, the provider part of the choose-up fell on the highway and a labourer, Laku Tolu Chawan, who was sitting down inside of the provider fell off, suffering serious head injuries.
Chawan, a indigenous of Karnataka, residing at Arradi in Candolim, was rushed to the district healthcare facility at Mapusa, but breathed his final on the way.
The driver, a resident of Colvale, was arrested beneath Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code and afterwards released on bail.
